Siim Kallas has been Vice-President of the European Commission and the Commissioner in charge of Transport since 2010. He joined the European Commission in 2004, after a distinguished career as Prime Minister, Minister of Finance, Minister of Foreign Affairs and President of the Central Bank of his native Estonia. He was Chairman of the Estonian Reform Party from 1994 to 2004, for which he was elected to Estonia's parliament three times. He holds a degree in economics from the University of Tartu in Estonia.
