Manfred Neun

European Cyclists’ Federation

Manfred Neun is a key figure in global cycling advocacy and since 2005 President of the European Cyclists’ Federation (ECF). With more than 70 cycling associations the ECF is the leading umbrella worldwide, called “The Voice of Cyclists in Europe and abroad”. Manfred Neun started with a Banker’s apprenticeship and studies in Economy and Psychology. He has been involved in research studying economic and psychological aspects of public and private transport in an urban environment, was lecturer at four Universities, President of the German Two-Wheel Wholesalers’ Association, and Executive Vice-President of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce of his hometown. As CEO of a cycling company, in 1986 he became the “father of the Trekking Bike”.
