Lauri Ojala

Dr. Lauri Ojala has worked as an expert for several international agencies (The World Bank, Asian Development Bank, European Commission, Nordic Investment Bank, UNIDO) in Trade and Transport Facilitation and policy-making projects, notably in The Baltic States and CIS countries.

He headed the “Finland State of Logistics” surveys in 2006, 2009, 2010 and 2012 with over 2,700 responses in each year. These studies comprise the largest database of its kind in the world.

Since 2006 he has been Project Director of three EU part-funded logistics projects with a combined volume of 7.6 m€; DaGoB on Dangerous Goods, LogOn Baltic on logistics development, and C.A.S.H. on security of international road haulage.

Dr. Ojala is initiator and co-author of Logistics Performance Index by The World Bank.

In 2012, he received the DHL Innovation Award for his achievements.
