Satoshi SEINO becomes Chairman of East Japan Railway Company (JR East) in April, 2012 after being President and CEO of JR East for 6 years. He joined Japanese National Railways (JNR) in 1970 and was assigned to JR East when JNR was divided and privatized in 1987. He has held several prominent positions in JR East, primarily in charge of administrative matters such as personnel affairs and finance. He became a member of the board as Director of the Personnel Dept. in 1994, Executive Director and CFO in 2000, and Executive Vice-President responsible for the Corporate Planning Headquarters in 2002.
