Manoj Singh
Dr. Manoj Singh is currently Adviser (Transport) in the Planning Commission of India. He joined the Indian Railways in 1990 and has served in various capacities in the Indian Railways and Container Corporation of India before assuming the position of Adviser (Transport). The Planning Commission is currently engaged in the preparation of the 12th five year plan for the country and Dr. Singh is involved in the transport sector plan. He has more than 20 years experience in the area of the Railway Planning and Policy, Cross-Border Rail Link and Multimodal Transport and Transport Facilitation, Container Transport and Ports and Rail Freight, Passenger and Safety Management. He was awarded Ph.D. in 2009 for work in the area of rail economics. He has been a recipient of the Commonwealth Scholarship in 2005 for Ph.D. studies at Institute for Transport System, University of Leads, U.K. and Chevening Gurukul Scholarship in Leadership and Excellence for four months at London School of Economics in 1999 as well as the General Managers Award in 1996 for professional excellence while serving in South Eastern Railway. Dr Singh has presented papers in national and international conferences in the areas of his research
